Every five years the rateable values of all non-domestic properties in England and Wales are reassessed. The current revaluation came into effect on 1 April 2005. There are limited circumstances and time limits for lodging appeals against the rating list assessments. Through our knowledge and experience of the rating system we will be able to assess whether it would be advantageous to challenge the assessment and advise on the impact this could have on your rates liability.
The ongoing management of the rating position is important to take advantage of any opportunity to minimise the amount of rates paid to the local authority.
