Every five years the rateable values of all non-domestic properties in England and Wales are reassessed. The current revaluation came into effect on 1 April 2005. There are limited circumstances and time limits for lodging appeals against the rating list assessments. Through our knowledge and experience of the rating system we will be able to assess whether it would be advantageous to challenge the assessment and advise on the impact this could have on your rates liability.

The ongoing management of the rating position is important to take advantage of any opportunity to minimise the amount of rates paid to the local authority.

The Beattie Partnership offer a fully managed service which monitors the changes that take place with their clients properties and the impact this may have on their liability. This includes challenging the assessment placed on the property by the Valuation Office together with an ongoing audit of the various rates bills having regard to the changing circumstances surrounding the property.
